About Julie

I am a paralegal at Padway & Padway.  I began working here in September of 1989 as a legal secretary and then paralegal.  I left in 2008 to pursue part-time employment at another law firm but returned again in 2010.  I enjoy working with clients and helping to assure their cases receive the best possible outcome.

My duties consist of obtaining documents pertinent to a client's case, drafting demand packages for the attorney's review and assisting in preparing cases for trial.  This includes discovery requests, fact investigation, scheduling depositions and mediations, and document production.  I have worked as a legal secretary and paralegal for 21 years.  I assist attorneys in a variety of different cases and areas of law, including personal injury.

I graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School in 1987.  Stanley is a very small town located in west central Wisconsin with Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire to its west and southwest and Wausau to the east.  In 1987-1988, I attended community college in Milwaukee and received a public relations certificate.  While working full time during the day, I took night classes at the Milwaukee Area Technical College.  I also attended multiple seminars, including The Personal Injury Paralegal in Wisconsin in 1997 and Analyzing Medical Records for the WI Paralegal in 2002 through the Institute for Paralegal Education.  In May of 2001, I earned a Paralegal Associate's Degree and graduated with honors.

I was born and raised in Stanley, Wisconsin, where my parents owned and operated a family dairy farm.  I am the fifth of eight children born to my parents and have a large extended family with many aunts, uncles and cousins.  My family still lives in the Stanley area and I visit there as often as possible.  In 2001, I married my husband Michael .  Michael is employed as a firefighter and together we have one daughter, who is the joy of their lives.

I enjoy spending time with my family and introducing my daughter to new and exciting things through her playgroups and her swim, music and gymnastics classes.  I also enjoy family walks, bike riding and attending the various festivals in Milwaukee and the surrounding areas.  My hobbies include spending time with my family and friends, reading and being my daughter's first teacher.
